What are you working on currently?

I’m working on the design of the central walls in this shower facility, that is the center point of the design. It’s a lattice structure, and is going to utilize plants, rather than utilizing a thick material.

How do you feel about our progress?

It’s been pretty slow up until now, but it’s probably going to pick up soon. We’ll be diving into it quickly and it will hit us hard. I’m excited to see how it goes, but it will definitely be a lot of work.

Any surprises or challenges come up?

The 125 sq/ft restriction has been a huge challenge; realizing how small that is and trying to make your design work within those requirements. It can be hard to attempt to figure out how you want everything to be from your mind.

How has your perception of the project changed so far?

I came in thinking of a shower facility like the dorms on campus. Aftter going to New Mexico and getting a better understanding of the project, the experience was eye opening to what the program requirements actually are. Understanding how this will all go together has been enlightening.

What are you working on currently?

The showers! And how to integrate the batch heaters above the showers, so it feeds better. I’m not sure, we’ll see how it turns out though.

How do you feel about our progress?

We’re definitely going pretty fast, but we do need to get this done on time. It’s okay though

Any surprises or challenges come up?

At this point, I’m not sure how this will all turn out. Getting it to all fit in the 125 sq/ft limit is a challenge.

How has your perception of the project changed so far?

It actually hasn’t changed that much; it’s still a shower! I knew it would be off the grid, and I had a pretty good idea of what we were getting into.
